Those of you who know Tristan are well aware of his love for cars. Jon blames me for this, because I'd own a different car for every day of the week if I could. Regardless, I thought for St. Patrick's Day I'd offer up these two beauties, which Tristan and I have discussed before.
It's been 14 days since the collision and we went to Harborview for Tristan's first post-op today. This was with the Internal Medicine team and they removed 26 staples from his abdomen. It was hard to watch him endure more pain, but having those removed is a wonderful sign of progress. We'll return to Harborview for appointments with the eye specialists next Wednesday and Friday, and an appointment with the Ortho team next Friday as well to check the rod in his leg and remove his stitches.
Moving about still causes Tristan a good deal of pain, however, so our Primary Care Physician prescribed in-home care through Providence for his Occupational, Physical, and Speech therapies. Having the specialists come to the house will be an enormous help and we should have our first visitor tomorrow.
Tristan's appetite has been improving and he's eating well most of the time, although he still struggles with brutal headaches and those completely eliminate his desire to eat. He continues to enjoy his daily smoothies from Jamba Juice, but is also loving a variety of fresh fruits, scrambled eggs, avocados, toast, and yes...cookies. He even destroyed an order of Shrimp Fried Rice from Jenny Pho. A mom's always happy to see her kids eat!
As you can imagine, there isn't much in Tristan's daily life that he gets to control right now. With that in mind, he's going to be in control of the visitation schedule. We feel this is best since he'll be a better judge of his pain and energy levels, and can determine whether he's feeling up for visitors. With that said, if you'd like to come over for a short visit, please reach out to Tristan directly via text, Insta, or Snap. We hope to see you soon.

So sorry to hear the headaches persist. They can be so debilitating. Tristan deserves all the painkillers until the headaches subside. I have been totally wrecked by migraines at times. They are frustrating and scary.
Looking forward to better, pain-free days very, very soon.
It will be good to get the physical therapy going so he can get stronger and things will start getting back to a more normal for him. Thank you for the continued updates 💜💜
So happy to read the positive updates! Sending love, hugs and prayers to all of you. 🤗🙏
Each post you make, he is a bit better. All of that is progress! Keep up the work Tristan.
