We thank the Issaquah Police Department, Eastside Fire & Rescue, and Harborview team for saving Tristan's life.
On March 3rd Tristan was riding his motorcycle on East Lake Sammamish Parkway SE when a driver made an illegal left turn in front of him from the side street between Walgreens and Home Depot. He was trapped under the car and was taken to Harborview via ambulance once he was extricated.
When Tristan arrived at Harborview he was in critical condition. His liver had split and his stomach was full of blood. Due to the extreme blood loss his body temperature and blood pressure plummeted, resulting in an inability for his blood to clot. The doctors removed roughly 1/2 his liver, placed sponges in his stomach to slow/stop the bleeding, and began supplying him with blood transfusions and clotting medications. His stomach was left open in anticipation of follow-up surgeries. Tristan also has an open-femur fracture, which the doctors bandaged until he's strong enough for it to be addressed. He was taken to ICU for holding until he stabilized enough to do the required CT scans to determine the full extent of his internal injuries.
